MPP 017: life after music photography, growing up & creative slumps (Feat. Tim Allen)

This episode of the music photo podcast means a lot to me. Tim was one of the earliest music photographers that I followed online. Before I even started photography I would look at his stuff and wish that I could make pictures like he did.

In this session we talk about the progression of music photography, growing up and out of the scene, having a traditional photography education AND a self taught background and much much more.

He know is known mainly as an aerial photographer making his bread shooting commercial real estate from a helicopter. I have however included below some of his original shots that inspired me way back in highschool. It was the peak of the "emo" era and it's so nostalgic to me to look back on the style and themes in these edits.

LIGHT TRAILS haha, I miss light trails. Also note the myspace address on the huge watermark. Very late 2000's emo era thing to do.
